Vitaliy Anatol'evich Konyaev rodilsya 11 maya 1937 goda. Posle okonchaniya v 1958 godu teatral'nogo uchilischa imeni M.S.Schepkina on nachal rabotat' v moskovskom Malom teatre. Pervuyu rol' v kino, Gromova, akter sygral v 1958 godu v fil'me "Stuchis' v lyubuyu dver'". Cherez god on ispolnil zaglavnuyu rol' v kartine "Pesn' o Kol'cove". V 1961 godu Vitaliy Konyaev snyalsya u Grigoriya Chuhraya v odnom iz luchshih sovetskih fil'mov - "Chistoe nebo". Nesomnennoy akterskoy udachey Konyaeva mozhno nazvat' glavnuyu rol', Sergeya Vohminceva, vfil'me "Tishina", postavlennom v 1964 godu Vladimirom Basovym po odnoimennomu romanu Yuriya Bondareva.
S 1972 goda Valentin Konyaev prepodaet v teatral'nom uchilische imeni M.S.Schepkina.
