KeepMoving Records presents the premiere release of the score to the animated movie Quackerz.
Quackerz is a Russian-Chinese co-production telling the story of a group of mandarin ducks whose worldview is challenged by a group of mallards flying over their territory. Yet the son and the daughter of the two leaders see their future together… But even with two different worlds colliding, the two species must learn to work together in order to defeat a common enemy – humans!
The music for Quackers was composed by Dmitry Noskov and Alexander Maslov, who were originally hired to score the movie in a Disney-like musical fashion. But when the idea of songs was abandoned, the composers were free to use their collection of great themes to fashion an orchestral adventure score fitting for a true pirate adventure – even if one filled with lots of weathers. With swashbuckling and flying going hand in hand, Quackerz offers one of the most energetic scores of recent Russian film scoring.
The illustrated booklet features liner notes by Gergely Hubai discussing the film and the score based on an original interview with the composer.
