Lethargy

The Lethargy was officially born on December 1st, 2007.
This day the band had their first rehearsal. At that time the band included 4 musicians with working experience in different bands:
• Vitaly Yavnov – vocals, guitar (ex - MASKA LOKI, TANATOS, AVALON, МЕЖА РЕАЛЬНОСТІ, INVASION);
• Aleksandr Kuznetsov – drums (ex - ИМПЕРИЯ);
• Vladimir Sirenko – bass (ex - СЕРДЦЕБИЕНИЕ, PRO-ROCK, ADEPT);
• Aleksandr Shirinskiy – guitar (ex - ТЕРМИНАЛ, АПОГЕЯ).

• To their joy the first rehearsal was quite successful. The walls of rehearsal base were cloaked in appreciation, harmony and friendly atmosphere. Last three factors allowed musicians to bind the bonds between them forming the whole – the Lethargy.

Our music was influenced by a lot of bands such as ANATHEMA, MY DYING BRIDE, IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILITY, BLACK SABBATH, PINK FLOYD, INSOMNIUM, CHILDREN OF BODOM, AMON AMARTH, MOONSPELL, etc.
Lyrics are full of pain and joy, frustration and smiles, loneliness and happiness, hate and love. But all the themes call to a fight for the existence of a dream, for the search for the truth and the love, for being person, not stereotype. The world has sunk in dirt and hypocrisy. Capitalistic values and material ideology rule the people and those, who denied them, from the young years are enslaved with false ideas of beautiful life, but the Lethargy appeared in this world to praise the spiritual values as the only true!
The poetry interlaced with hard but beautiful guitar riffs, drum hurricane united with bass rumble, sad keyboards, which are the background for desperate growl of lonely romantic, turning into clear melancholic vocal or mad scream of the lost soul.
Lethargy – is a golden mean, a state of a person, allegedly dead, but in the same time alive, a state between life and death. The given world is not considered to be only the doom’s name, but uppermost to be high-minded. A man is always in between of two contradictions and he is actually made of them. The famous romantic of the XVIII century William Blake said: ‘Two opposite beginnings can’t exist without one another, and only their coexistence, solemnization leads to the authentic spirituality.’
