The fundamental difference of "Water Wind" from huge number of other musical bands is elegant combination of incompatible concepts: Russian and European, acoustic and electric, academic and folk, modern and ancient. It is promoted by classical music education and intimate knowledge of the different music trends of two participants of the band - Maria Larina and Fedor Vetrov, and by brilliant original talent of the third participant and the leader of the command - Den Skurida. The experiments with a mixture of styles give many disputes between fans of the band and their opponents; therefore "Water Wind" has got the name of one of the most scandalous and ambiguous groups of the Russian folk-stage. Musicians involuntarily support such image, defending of their own point of view in many interviews and in the vast expanses of the Internet.

Another feature of the band, its zest, is multi-instrumentalism of participants. The real show is represented on a stage during a concert - the guitar passes from Den's hands to Fedor's, then back, various woodwinds instruments are replaced by percussion, then by violin and vocal.

The history of the "Water Wind" creation, one of the first Moscow folk-rock bands, began in 1999 year, but musicians prefer to consider 2000 as a band's creation year, because with the first song "Maiden's Lament" (Vyhodila), which subsequently entered into a debut album "Svistoplyaska" (Maelstrom), the sounding of group, which was completely instrumental, has completely changed. Besides, the subjects have exchanged too: since, there were not only Irish-British instrumental compositions, but also author's songs in Russian ethnic key.

During its history the group acted with such well-known bands and performers as Blind Guardian (Germany), Grave Digger (Germany), Edenbridge (Germany), Kari Rueslåtten (Norway), Dmitry Revyakin ("Kalinov Most"), and some of them highly estimated the "Water Wind". The band was touring in many Russian cities, played concerts in various Moscow musical clubs, participated in festivals.

Depending on themes of actions, the musicians could play either acoustic or electric instruments , therefore, there are many rockers, goths, folk and fantasy fans, the adult people, teenagers and students among their fans. All of them absolutely peacefully co-exist in territory of creative space of "Water Wind". They are connected by music, which cannot be forgotten, which made all these people dance to the music and join songs.

During all development way, the leader of the band Den Skurida often changed membership, being disagreed with indifference and non-professionalism of musicians. In 2003 year viola-player Fedor Vetrov joined group and became the full member of the collective.

Nowadays Den is going to expand membership for the greater freedom of the experiments, but the basis, nevertheless, are Maria's gentle, womanly, bewitching, mind-bending and, at the same time, powerful, not leaving anybody indifferent voice, Den's brilliant charismatic voice, the combination of the acoustic and electric instruments, and, certainly, inexhaustible aspiration to experiments.
