Aleksandr L'vovich Semchev rodilsya 16 aprelya 1969 goda v gorode Vyshnij Volochok Tverskoj oblasti. S detstva lyubil smeshit' sverstnikov, zanimalsya v kukol'nom kruzhke, vel diskoteki. Vpervye vyshel na scenu v desyat' let, sygrav rol' Baby Yagi. Sluzhil v armii, zatem rabotal v mestnom dramteatre. V 1997 godu on okonchil teatral'noe uchilische imeni B.V.Schukina, neskol'ko let prorabotal v "Sovremennike". Potom Oleg Efremov priglasil aktera vo MHAT imeni Chehova. Sredi ego teatral'nyh rabot takie raznozhanrovye roli, kak Buton v spektakle "Kabala svyatosh", Bugrov v "Novom amerikance" (po p'ese S.Dovlatova), strazhnik Zhona v "Antigone" (po p'ese Zh.Anuya). Za odnu iz rabot Aleksandr Semchev byl vydvinut na teatral'nuyu premiyu "Chajka" v nominacii "Ulybka goda". Uznavaemym akter stal blagodarya s'emkam v reklamnyh rolikah. V kino Aleksandr Semchev snimaetsya s 1998 goda, na ego schetu roli v fil'mah "Nebo v almazah", "Svad'ba", v pol'skoj kartine "Pervyj million", v teleserialah "Marsh Tureckogo", "Marosejka, 12", "Ostanovka po trebovaniyu", "Syschiki".
