Semen Aleksandrovich Furman rodilsya 9 yanvarya 1951 goda v Leningrade. Okonchiv v 1973 godu rezhissersko-baletmejsterskoe otdelenie fakul'teta teatral'noj rezhissury Leningradskogo instituta kul'tury, gde zanimalsya na kurse A.L.Madievskogo, Semen Furman stal akterom Ashhabadskogo TYuZa. V 1975 godu on vernulsya v Leningrad, rabotal pomoschnikom rezhissera na kinostudii «Lenfil'm», a v 1978-1988 godah byl akterom Lenkoncerta, takzhe pisal e'stradnye monologi i rabotal v teatre mody. V 1980 godu Semen Furman okonchil Tvorcheskuyu masterskuyu e'stradnogo iskusstva. S 1990 goda akter igraet v Teatre dramy i komedii na Litejnom (Sankt-Peterburg), gde sozdal zapominayuschijsya obraz Garpagona v spektakle «Skupoj» (po Zh.B.Mol'eru). S 1986 goda Semen Furman sygral bolee chem v 50 fil'mah, v tom chisle - «Moj nezhno lyubimyj detektiv», «Ostrov pogibshih korablej», «ChP rajonnogo masshtaba», «Dom pod zvezdnym nebom», «Korotkoe dyhanie lyubvi». Snimalsya akter takzhe v telefil'mah «Russkij tranzit», «Stranicy teatral'noj parodii». Osobo stoit otmetit' ego roli v kartinah «Shtany» V.Priemyhova i «Perehod tovarischa Chkalova cherez Severnyj polyus» i «Plenniki udachi» M.G.Pezhemskogo. Sredi poslednih rabot Semena Furmana - vyshedshij v 1999 godu fil'm Valeriya Priemyhova «Kto, esli ne my».
