Zatem Leonid Nechaev rabotal na tvorcheskom ob'edinenii «E'kran», gde snyal ryadhronikal'no-dokumental'nyh fil'mov, a s 1974 goda nachal snimat' igrovye fil'my dlya detej, pervym iz kotoryh stala polyubivshayasya detyam (i ne tol'ko im) muzykal'naya kinoskazka «Priklyucheniya Buratino», otmechennaya prekrasnymi rabotami luchshih sovetskih akterov- Rolana Bykova, Vladimira E'tusha, Riny Zelenoj, Vladimira Basova. Krome togo, rezhisser takzhe postavil fil'my «Pro Krasnuyu shapochku. Prodolzhenie staroj skazki», «Primite telegrammu v dolg», «Mnimyj bol'noj», «Bezumnaya Lori».
