V 1947 godu on okonchil shkolu-studiyu pri Leningradskom Bol'shom dramaticheskom teatre, gde ego nastavnikom byl Boris Babochkin. Rabotat' zhe v e'tom teatre Vladislav Strzhel'chik nachal v 1940 godu, esche buduchi studentom, i igral na scene BDT do konca svoej zhizni. Imenno zdes' on sygral svoi luchshie teatral'nye roli, prodemonstrirovav vysochajshee masterstvo akterskogo perevoploscheniya, s uspehom sozdavaya kak tragedijnye, tak i komedijnye obrazy.Sredi luchshih teatral'nyh rolej artista - Ganya v inscenirovke "Idiota" F.M.Dostoevskogo, Cyganov v "Varvarah" M.Gor'kogo, Kuligin v "Treh sestrah" A.P.Chehova, knyaz' Vano iz "Hanumy" Cagareli, Gregori Solomon v "Cene" A.Millera, Genri Persi v "Korole Genrihe IV" V.Shekspira. Teatralam nadolgo zapomnilis' blistatel'nyj akterskij due't Efima Kopelyana i Vladislava Strzhel'chika, ispolnivshih roli Savvy Morozova i Nikolaya Baumana v spektakle "Tret'ya strazha", a takzhe postavlennyj special'no dlya Alisy Frejndlih i Vladislava Strzhel'chika prekrasnyj spektakl' "E'tot pylkij vlyublennyj".
