Sergej Batalov rodilsya 19 aprelya 1957 goda. V 1980 godu on okonchil Gosudarstvennyj institut teatral'nogo iskusstva imeni A.Lunacharskogo (GITIS), gde zanimalsya na kurse V.Andreeva. Posle sluzhby v armii, v 1982 godu Sergej Batalov stal akterom Moskovskogo teatra na Maloj Bronnoj. V 1990-1992 godah on rabotal v Teatre-studii "Chelovek", pod rukovodstvom rezhissera Sergeya Zhenovacha. V kino Sergej Batalov debyutiroval v 1983 godu, v fil'me "Nezhdanno-negadanno", izvestnost' emu prinesli veduschie roli v kartinah Nikolaya Dostalya "Oblako-raj" (1990) i "Melkij bes" (1995). Sredi drugih izvestnyh kartin s uchastiem aktera - "Soldat Ivan Chonkin" (1994), "Shirli-myrli" (1995), "Policejskie i vory" (1997), "Hochu v tyur'mu" (1998), "Prazdnik" (2000), "Povelitel' luzh" (2002). Sergej Batalov takzhe aktivno snimaetsya v serialah - "Koroli rossijskogo syska", "Dos'e detektiva Dubrovskogo", "Granica. Taezhnyj roman", "Marsh Tureckogo", "Zakon", "Bayazet". Ego rabota v fil'me "Pod polyarnoj zvezdoj" na kinofestivale "Sozvezdie-2001" byla otmechena prizom za luchshuyu muzhskuyu rol'.
