Russian Folk Music

Field recordings and ensemble performances from the actual living traditions: the Svan lullabies of highland Georgia, the polyphonic wedding songs of the Voronezh region, the epic byliny of northern Russia, the bandura music of Ukraine. Not arranged for the concert hall but performed as they were always meant to be heard, by musicians who carry these traditions from childhood.
