Opera recordings from the great tradition of Soviet and post-Soviet musical theatre: legendary productions from the Bolshoi, the Mariinsky, the opera houses of Kyiv, Tbilisi, and Baku. Both the Western operatic repertoire as interpreted by singers trained in the Slavic vocal tradition, and the rich national operas of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine, composed in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
