A sequel to the 1995 best comedy “Peculiarities of the National Hunt” offers a kaleidoscope of jokes, gags, tall tales and comic absurdities! This firework of a film by Alexander Rogozhkin, made between his two national hits – “Peculiarities of the National Hunt” and “Peculiarities of the National Fishing”, deserves the honorary title “Peculiarities of the National New Year”. Basically the same crew and cast (Alexei Buldakov, Leonid Yarmolnik, Viktor Sukhorukov, Andrei Krasko, Viktor Bychkov) participate with gusto and style in the celebration of the nation’s most favorite holiday.
The hilarious drinking spree takes place in a hospital’s trauma department. In the holiday spirit, a professor called up to a “new Russian” arrives as drunk as a lord, a young doctor is too busy with calling girls on the phone, a nurse with flirtatious affairs, and a medic with devouring drinks by the “Yin/Yang” system. The famous “hunter” General Ivolgin, as usual, is in the forefront and in the saddle: he provides for a fabulous table, a Christmas tree, the delivery of ladies, successfully carries on diplomatic negotiations with police officer Semyonov and, in the finale, orders a fireworks and conducts a harmonious chorus of the traumatized...
